The natural progression in my ongoing journey of fusing poetry with various art forms led me to a significant milestone—a musical album based on my poetry book, “Privremeni boravak” (Temporary Domicile). Though the talent for this venture has always resided within me, the opportunity and time to nurture it had been elusive. However, sparks and glimpses of this musical inclination were ever-present—moments of grabbing a guitar and composing a small musical piece with vocals.
Published at the end of the unique year that was 2020, “Temporary Domicile” became the canvas for my musical aspirations. In the winter of 2021, while conceptualizing a distinct book presentation, I picked up my acoustic guitar. The verses from the book seamlessly transformed into playable and singable compositions. Some poetic sections needed adjustment to fit this alternate medium, and certain verses became musical references. With the creative energy flowing, I gathered a group of musicians to collaborate on bringing these compositions to life. The project earned recognition in the local contest of the Municipality of Pančevo, securing funds for the production of an album.
In crafting the album, I took charge of most arrangements myself, occasionally collaborating with a recording and production specialist. The result is a collection of 10 songs in a contemporary style, drawing influences from rock, country, evergreen, and similar genres. The talented participants in this musical venture include Miona Caran on viola, Goran Zmejkovski on electric guitar, Đurađ Šimić on bass guitar, Jasmina Topić lending her voice and electric guitar skills, and Stefan Gaćeša handling bass, electric guitar, and production duties.
Final recordings and productions are slated for December 2023/January 2023 at 3X2 Studio in Pančevo, with the album’s release scheduled on the Bandcamp platform—for a start. The first single made its debut in July 2023 and is accessible on the YouTube platform, with video production handled by the author.
Officially recognized as a sound recording by the National Library of Serbia, the album is published under the Literary Society Pančevo. All rights are reserved in the author’s name.
