Selection of poems
Kulturni centar Vojvodine, Novi Sad
Welcome to my website. My name is Jasmina Topić, and I am a writer and poet from Serbia. Alongside literature, I have a strong interest in exploring the connections between poetry—my primary artistic focus—and other forms of creative expression. Ever since I began writing, I have been fascinated by the ways poetry can interact with different artistic media. This has led me to participate in a variety of theatre and poetry performances, produce a DVD featuring video adaptations of my poems, create an audio CD on which speakers of different languages read my poetry, and, most recently, record a singer-songwriter album inspired by the poems from my still current poetry collection Temporary Residence.
Although I am primarily recognized on the Serbian and regional literary scene as a poet, I also write fiction, essays, and literary criticism. In addition, I work as an editor, moderator of literary events, and creative writing instructor. In 2012, I founded Najbolja, a contemporary poetry series based in Pančevo, Serbia, where I continue to serve as Editor-in-Chief. I am also the Editor-in-Chief of Rukopisi, the anthology of poetry and short fiction by emerging writers from the countries of the former Yugoslavia, published by the Pančevo Youth Center since 1976. For the past five years, I have been leading the Rukopisi Literary Workshop at the Pančevo Youth Center, as well as the online Small Poetry Workshop, mentoring aspiring writers and helping them develop their literary voices.
On this website you will find information about my work, a detailed biography, audio and video recordings, and an overview of both my past projects and current activities. I hope you will find the content engaging, informative, and inspiring. If my work resonates with you, I would be delighted to explore opportunities for collaboration.
Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to learn more about my work.
May art continue to inspire us all!
