The first music album by acclaimed poet Jasmina Topić has been completed at Pančevo’s Studio 3X2 under the direction of Stefan Gaćeša. The album is based on her poetry collection of the same title, published by Arhipelag, which received the Milica Stojadinović Srpkinja Award in 2021.
The songs were first presented in their original arrangements at the book launch in Pančevo’s Apollo Hall in June 2021, and later at the Vila Festival in Vrdnik in 2022, as part of the Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture programme and the literary festival Milici u pohode.
The album Privremeni boravak features 10 original compositions, with a total running time of 43 minutes and 9 seconds. The tracks are: “Jadran Intro (Na moru si),” “To što ti se radujem,” “Jadransko plavo,” “Sumrak,” “Pišem ti pismo,” “Prijatelji,” “Letnje veče u Branzviku,” “Jadran 7 (U ponavljanjima),” “Kako izgleda odlazak,” and “Šta je to noć donela.”
All of the songs are based on poems from the book and were adapted for musical performance, originally conceived for acoustic guitar.
Jasmina Topić is also the composer of the music. The arrangements and performances were created in collaboration with Miona Caran Markov (viola), Đurađ Šimić (bass guitar), Goran Zmejkovski (electric guitar), and Stefan Gaćeša (bass and electric guitar, album production).
Two additional collaborators contributed to the final two tracks. Danijela Olači played piano on “Kako izgleda odlazak,” while Ivan Kačavenda, known by his musical name Ivica, played guitars on “Šta je to noć donela,” bringing something of his distinctive sound to the track.
