A new cycle of literary workshops under the mentorship of Jasmina Topić is now open for applications: the RUKOPISI Literary Workshop and the MALA POETSKA RADIONICA (Small Poetry Workshop).
The workshops are organised in collaboration with the Pančevo Youth Centre and the Association of Writers and Literary Translators of Pančevo. The workshops have been running for five years, and several participants have so far had the opportunity to publish their books within the Najbolja poetry series of the Association of Writers. Over the past three years, the series has also received four literary awards.
Jasmina Topić’s approach places particular emphasis on education, as well as on a thorough understanding of the writing process and the ways in which a text is shaped and developed. The workshops combine learning, creative exercises, analysis, research, and discussion. Detailed descriptions of the two workshop modules are provided below.
IN PERSON — Pančevo Youth Centre
This workshop is intended for participants from Pančevo and Belgrade who are able to travel to Pančevo for the sessions and prefer working in person.
The programme runs for six months, from October to March: three months devoted to poetry and three months to short prose. Sessions are held once a week, with additional meetings arranged when needed and agreed upon by the group.
The programme is co-financed by the Pančevo Youth Centre, which makes the participation fee lower than the regular price. The number of participants is limited in order to ensure a high quality of work.
The workshop combines an educational component with creative writing exercises and an introduction to contemporary literature.
ONLINE
This workshop lasts four months and is open to participants of all ages.
Sessions are held once a week via ZOOM, on a day agreed upon by the participants, and last two hours. Viber and email are used for communication, arrangements, and sharing materials.
The day of the weekly session will be agreed upon during the initial meeting with the participants. The number of participants is limited in order to ensure a high quality of work.
Applications are open until 30 September.
All interested participants are asked to complete an information questionnaire, which can be accessed via the relevant pages of the Pančevo Youth Centre and the Najbolja edition of the Association of Writers of Pančevo, and return it to the email address provided in the post.
The questionnaire should be submitted by email with the subject indicating the chosen workshop: RUKOPISI LITERARY WORKSHOP or MALA POETSKA RADIONICA.
Applications should be sent to:
knjiz.radionica.rukopisi@gmail.com
Submitting the questionnaire by email constitutes a valid application. The same email address can be used for any questions or additional information.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing another inspiring and creative cycle of work together.
